IPL breaks rules of Internet Marketing

People said it was a bad move to have IPL being broadcasted over Social Media, i.e., Youtube, as part of its Internet Marketing program. But, the czar LalitModi proved everyone wrong as he has done in the past. Cricket, which is still famous in only 11 countries has become a worldwide phenomenon all because of the Internet Marketing tactics used by the IPL. With such Internet Marketing techniques IPL has in fact become the most viewed online sports show, surpassing the NBA and Nascar Series. With an exclusive deal struck between IPL and Youtube, the first of its kind, people from world over flocked to watch the match live, even if they had never seen a cricket match before. LalitModi probably showed how to get cricket to the world simply by the power of Internet Marketing. Especially with the tremendous rise in amount of fans in the USA, there has been a first time Cricket series going to be held in the USA, between two first class International teams, i.e. New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
This whole incident actually goes to show the power of Internet Marketing and Social media optimization. If it wasn’t for this Social Media technique adopted by LalitModi, there never would have been a worldwide phenomena. What ICC had tried to do for over 50 years in International Cricket, LalitModi did it in 50 days, simply with the power of Internet Marketing throughSocial Media. Now, there is no doubt that IPL is going to return again to Social Mediaevery year via Youtube, but may also, practice more Internet Marketing tactics like affiliate marketing.
A lesson to be learnt from this whole issue would be that in a country where technology is not so widespread, in a game where there are a few participating countries, the power of social media and internet marketing has breached all such walls to provide the world a sensational phenomenon.
